If you accidently modified or deleted a file, or you can't find a file on your computer, please don't worry. Usually, the file only disappears from the directory of files but remains in the hard drive unless the space that it occupied in the hard disk is overwritten by a new file. Making the deleted file recoverable, Windows allows computer to retrieve deleted data in your computer. you can restore it from a backup (if you're using Windows backup) or you can try to restore it from a previous version. Previous versions are copies of files and folders that Windows automatically saves as part of a restore point. Previous versions are sometimes referred to as shadow copies.
If nothing helps you to get Windows starting and working properly and you do not have a recent or valid backup, you can still recover your important files if your hard drive is fine (which means your hard disk is readable and your file system is not badly damaged).
